Man acquitted in 2024 crash case.

A man from Marinette County has been found innocent of all charges related to a 2024 accident that resulted in the death of two individuals. Scott Mathis, aged 47 from Pembine, was cleared of two counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle by a jury, as indicated by Wisconsin Circuit Court documents. The accusations against Mathis claimed that he was using his phone just before the crash on June 2, 2024, which took the lives of Mary Kust, 73, and Elysia Kust, 44. Reports state that Mathis, driving south on County Highway W, allegedly disregarded a stop sign at the junction with County Highway B, resulting in a collision with the Kusts’ car. The legal proceedings against Mathis have officially come to an end following the jury's decision to find him not guilty.
