Man accused of murder and robbery in deadly collision
An Indianapolis man has been taken into custody and is facing charges of robbery and murder following a deadly car crash on the south side of the city. Corey Davis, the alleged driver involved in the incident, was apprehended by IMPD's Violent Crimes Unit last Thursday. The fatal crash, which resulted from an attempted robbery, tragically took the life of 62-year-old Charles Collins. The authorities responded to a robbery report on May 15, where they found Collins injured from what seemed to be a car collision. Despite efforts to save him, Collins passed away two days later in the hospital. With the help of evidence and witness statements, detectives identified Davis as a suspect and arrested him last week. Court records indicate that Davis has been charged with felony murder and robbery in Marion Superior Court 29. His initial court appearance is set for Monday morning in front of Judge Charles F. Miller.
