
Man accused of DUI in fatal pedestrian crash
A man has been apprehended and charged with driving while intoxicated following a tragic incident involving a pedestrian and multiple vehicles on August 30 at approximately 11:36 p.m. The Austin Police Department reported the occurrence in the 6100 block of North I-35 southbound, where the pedestrian sadly lost their life. The arrested individual, Jarrel A. Broussard, is facing the charges related to the incident. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased. This event marks Austin's 69th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 73 fatalities. Last year on the same date saw 59 fatal crashes claiming 64 lives.
