Man accused in deadly Riverside crash involving stolen car
A man from Dayton, Ohio, is facing charges of vehicular homicide following a tragic incident involving a stolen vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality last August. The Montgomery County Grand Jury has issued indictments against Rustam Suleymanov, 49, in connection with the fatal crash that occurred on Aug. 24, 2024. Suleymanov has been charged with multiple offenses related to the incident. The events unfolded when Riverside officers were called to the 3100 block of Old Troy Pike due to reports of a traffic collision. At the scene, they discovered that Suleymanov had been driving a stolen Nissan Pathfinder and had collided head-on with a Chevy Impala, resulting in the death of 54-year-old Michael L. Jumper. Investigations determined that Suleymanov had taken the Nissan shortly before the crash and was traveling at a speed of nearly 100 miles per hour in a 40 MPH zone. The evidence revealed that he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, made a sharp correction, and collided with the Impala at speeds exceeding 70 MPH. According to court records, Suleymanov did not possess a valid driver's license. An arrest warrant has been issued for the defendant, who is set to appear in court for arraignment on Tuesday, April 22.
