Man, 40, arrested for fleeing fatal crash in Omaha

A 40-year-old man was taken into custody by Omaha police in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on November 16 at approximately 1 a.m. at the intersection of 26th Avenue and Douglas Street. In the incident, a 29-year-old pedestrian was struck by a truck. Police reported that witnesses observed the pedestrian walking in the center of the road and while two vehicles managed to avoid hitting him, the truck did not. The victim was transported to the hospital and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Charles White was arrested on Saturday for his alleged involvement in the hit-and-run.
