INITIAL REPORT: A collision involving an 18-wheeler has resulted in the closure of major traffic routes in Corpus Christi, halting all traffic heading southeast on Interstate 37 towards the Bayfront area, as well as southbound State Highway 286 and northbound US 181. Traffic is being redirected at Port Avenue while crews work to clear the area. Officials anticipate it could take several hours to resume normal traffic flow in the affected areas. Temporary closures on I-37 lanes and ramps are still in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the vicinity or expect significant delays.
