Major accident closes I-10 West at Highrise Bridge
Traffic on I-10 West in New Orleans was at a standstill due to two crashes involving a total of eleven vehicles on the Highrise Bridge. The first accident occurred in the left lane, resulting in a second crash. Emergency officials responded by closing I-10 West at the Highrise and redirecting traffic to the Louisa Street exit. Three individuals were taken to University Medical Center by New Orleans EMS, while fire rescue and police also responded to the scene. Tow crews were called in to assist with the wreck involving a tractor-trailer. As of 6:58 a.m., I-10 West on the Highrise Bridge remains closed with no estimated time for reopening.
