Maine resident fatally hit in driveway in chain-reaction accident, authorities report
A man from Maine tragically passed away after being hit by a vehicle while standing in a driveway in Naples. The incident occurred at around 4:10 p.m. on Thursday at 227 Roosevelt Trail. Emergency responders found that a pedestrian had suffered fatal injuries in a two-vehicle crash in the driveway. The victim was identified as Scott Martin, 56, of Naples. An investigation revealed that a 29-year-old man from West Baldwin was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee that veered off the road and collided with a parked Ford van in the driveway. The driver reportedly swerved to avoid another vehicle. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash, with no further details or potential charges announced yet. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and the Windham Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit are handling the ongoing investigation.
