
LVMPD Reports 1 Fatality and 1 Arrest After Multi-Vehicle Accident in East Valley
A fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred in the east valley early Sunday morning, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. The incident took place at the intersection of North Eastern Avenue and East Stewart Avenue at approximately 6:24 a.m. According to police, a speeding Toyota Camry failed to stop at a red light on Stewart Avenue and crashed into a Volkswagen Toureg making a left turn onto Stewart from Eastern. The impact caused both vehicles to hit a stationary Nissan Rogue and a semi-truck. Tragically, the driver of the Volkswagen had to be extricated from his vehicle and was later pronounced dead at University Medical Center (UMC). The Toyota driver, identified as 23-year-old Raul Castorena, sustained significant injuries and faces charges related to the collision.
