Lufthansa CEO's wife departs Italy following tragic accident in resort town.

Vivian Alexandra Spohr, the wife of Lufthansa airlines CEO Carsten Spohr, is facing accusations of hitting a babysitter with her car while vacationing on an Italian island. The incident occurred in the town of Porto Cervo in Sardinia when Spohr, driving a BMW X5, allegedly struck Gaia Costa, who later succumbed to severe head injuries. Spohr, who was found not to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, left the scene after fainting but has assured she will cooperate with authorities investigating the incident. Although she flew back to Berlin, she is not legally obligated to remain on the island. Vivian Spohr's lawyer has expressed her remorse over the tragic accident and stated she will assist in any necessary investigations. Lufthansa has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
