Lorena senior among three dead in car accident - KWKT
LORENA, Texas (FOX 44) -- Three people are dead, including former Lorena dual-sport athlete, 18-year-old Landon Harris following a tragic car accident in Lee County Tuesday morning. The Texas Department of Public Safety told Fox 44 News that the accident occurred near the Milam County Line at approximately 7:00 a.m. DPS said the Toyota Tacoma driven by Harris traveling southbound on US 77 struck a Dodge Ram driving northbound after veering into the lane. Both Harris and the passenger, 36-year-old Jarrett Hawkins, died as a result of the collision. The driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as 49-year-old Daniel Phillips, was also pronounced dead at the scene. A GoFundMe has been set up by Jay Arp to help the Harris family cover the funeral costs and raised over $4,000 in the first 30 minutes. The goal is set at $20,000.
