
'Long road of healing': Mother killed in Brevard County crash on I-95 with children in vehicle
A 32-year-old mother was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Memorial Day, while her three young children were in the vehicle.The incident happened in the southbound lanes of I-95, just north of Pineda Causeway near mile marker 188, in Melbourne.>> Video above: Previous coverageFlorida Highway Patrol said the crash involved a Ford F-350 and a Honda Odyssey. The F-350's tire blew out, which officials believe caused the crash. The mother driving the Odyssey was identified as 32-year-old Olivia Maggs. Her three children were taken to the hospital for their injuries. One was 8 months old and sustained a broken femur and a brain bleed. Two boys, ages 3 and 4, were also injured but are expected to be OK.Her family posted a GoFundMe page stating that strangers stopped to help pull the children out of the vehicle.Maggs was described as a "loving and gentle mother, devoted wife, and cherished daughter, sister, friend, and compassionate nurse." The driver of the Ford was not transported to the hospital and remained on scene."The family now faces a long road of healing; physically and emotionally," the GoFundMe page said.
