
Long Island woman killed in head-on collision with suspected drunk driver
A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night when a woman lost her life in a collision with a suspected drunk driver on Long Island. The crash took place shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Seaman's Neck Road near St. James Catholic Church in Bethpage. The driver, identified as 54-year-old Joseph Curto from Seaford, was reportedly traveling the wrong way and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old woman, who tragically passed away at the scene. Curto has been arrested and charged with DWI, and he is currently in critical condition at the hospital. Witnesses like school teacher Christopher Cesarani and Bethpage resident John Nixon described the chaotic scene and expressed concerns about the road's safety, emphasizing the need for caution in the area due to its dangerous curve.
