Lisbon accident: Minibike accident injures children, woman faces charges
A 26-year-old woman is facing charges following her involvement in a vehicle collision with a minibike carrying two children in Lisbon. The individual, Zuyelmar Barrios Alvarez, has been charged with two felonies for driving without a valid license and leaving the scene of the incident. She was given a $50,000 bond on Monday. The collision occurred at an intersection in Lisbon over the weekend, resulting in an 11-year-old boy sustaining critical injuries and an 8-year-old girl with minor injuries. Barrios Alvarez claimed she did not see the minibike until it was too late to avoid the collision. A witness shared video footage showing the sequence of events, including Barrios Alvarez initially driving away from the scene before returning. Court records indicated discrepancies in her residency status and driving license information.
