Recent details have emerged regarding the tragic hit-and-run incident in Wichita on August 13th, where 14-year-old Jackson Nzabonimpa lost his life. A 19-year-old named Gauge Brasher has been accused of driving the BMW involved in the crash. Investigation reveals that the car was traveling at a speed of 117 mph five seconds before the airbags deployed, with the brakes being activated at 115 mph just 3.5 seconds later. The impact occurred at around 66 mph. Brasher, who was taken into custody, was observed to be possibly intoxicated, as noted by the arresting officer who conducted a field sobriety test, indicating impairment. Despite refusing a breathalyzer and blood test, Brasher was later apprehended after briefly escaping custody and is now facing a preliminary hearing set for Wednesday.
