Lawsuit filed by families of women killed in Colorado crash, alleging Jeep tour driver was intoxicated
Lawyers representing the families of two Arizona women who tragically lost their lives in a Jeep accident in Colorado are taking legal action against the tour company and the estate of the driver of the Jeep. The lawsuit alleges that the driver, 72-year-old Don Fehd, was a last-minute replacement driver who may have consumed alcohol either the night before or on the day of the accident. The crash resulted in the deaths of Fehd and his two passengers, Diana Robles, 28, and Ofelia Perez, 60, all from Yuma, Arizona. The incident occurred on Sept. 12, 2022, as they were returning from a tour organized by Colorado West Jeep Rentals and Tours of Ouray. Despite investigations indicating that speed and reckless driving were not contributing factors to the crash, the lawsuit claims that Fehd may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The case is currently undergoing legal proceedings in a federal court in Denver, with both parties having one year to present their evidence.
