Lawsuit filed against Portillo's by family of toddler killed in crash

The family of a 2-year-old boy who tragically lost his life when a car crashed into a Portillo's restaurant in Oswego last month has taken legal action by filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the chain. The lawsuit, brought forth by the boy's father, alleges that the parking lot design and absence of safety barriers at the Portillo's location created a hazardous environment. The vehicle's impact, driven by a 50-year-old woman, resulted in the boy's passing and injuries to 12 others. The lawsuit claims that the positioning of head-in parking spaces directly in front of the eatery without protective barriers posed a danger to patrons. The legal action seeks damages exceeding $50,000 and points out previous vehicle-into-building incidents as evidence that the company was aware of the risk but failed to address it. The law firm GWC Injury Lawyers, LLC will host a press conference on Friday to address the suit in detail.
