Law student accused of being under influence of Marijuana after car crash in Vadodara

Authorities in Vadodara, Gujarat reported that Rakshit Chaurasia, the law student involved in a fatal car accident last month, was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident rather than being intoxicated. Forensic reports revealed that Chaurasia, along with his friends Pranshu Chauhan and Suresh Bharwad, tested positive for marijuana. Consequently, all three were charged under the NDPS Act, and Chauhan, who owned the car and was present during the accident, was arrested. The accident occurred on March 14 when Chaurasia's vehicle collided with multiple two-wheelers, resulting in the death of a woman named Hemali Patel. Chaurasia, a law student from Uttar Pradesh residing in Vadodara, denied being drunk but admitted the airbags in his vehicle deployed upon impact. The video footage of the incident showed Chaurasia screaming 'another round' after the crash, which led to public outrage and intervention by the authorities.
