Lasara man dies after striking utility pole in single-vehicle crash, DPS
LASARA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Lasara man is dead after crashing into a utility pole Tuesday night. The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the victim in the crash as 20-year-old Lasara resident, Erik Daniel Perez II. A preliminary crash report stated that Perez, who was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette, was driving westbound on 6th Street west of FM 1015 when he veered off the road and fell into a ditch. Authorities believe speed was a factor in this crash. Additionally, Perez's Corvette skid off the road and struck a utility pole on the driver's side door. The vehicle then turned over on its left top side. Perez was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Texas DPS are further investigating this fatal accident.
