Las Vegas police search for driver in deadly wheelchair hit-and-run
Over the weekend, a tragic hit-and-run incident in northeast Las Vegas resulted in the fatal injury of a 39-year-old man using a motorized wheelchair. The accident occurred early Saturday morning on Judson Avenue near Rigney Lane. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the man was struck by a Toyota Tundra that veered off its lane, pushing him into oncoming traffic where he was hit by a Toyota Corolla. Despite being taken to a nearby hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Corolla remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, while the driver of the Tundra fled and is still being sought by LVMPD. This incident is the 136th traffic-related fatality in the Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
