Lanes reopened following deadly accident on 580 in Richmond
A serious accident led to a closure on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 580 in Richmond early Tuesday morning, as stated by the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m. and resulted in the temporary shutdown of all lanes on I-580 east of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge toll plaza. This disruption affected access to the bridge for eastbound drivers but the road was eventually cleared, and regular traffic flow resumed by 5 a.m., according to the CHP.
