Landscaping firm issues statement following fatal accident in Salem
A landscaping company in Salem has released a statement regarding a tragic incident that left one employee deceased and another with serious injuries after they came into contact with power lines. The Salem Police reported that Marc Glaser, 45, of Salem, and a fellow worker were involved in a fatal accident while performing landscaping duties. Glaser was found deceased in a hydraulic lift bucket near the power lines by Route 28, while the other worker sustained severe electrical burns and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment. Linehan Landscaping's chief operating officer, Heather Linehan, expressed deep sorrow over the situation and extended condolences to the employees' families. The company is cooperating with OSHA and local authorities in the investigation. The focus remains on supporting the affected employees and ensuring team safety. Authorities from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and OSHA were also present at the scene, and individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact Salem Police Detective Jake Genest.
