Lamborghini driver flees deadly hit-and-run crash in Los Angeles neighborhood

Police are searching for a Lamborghini driver who fled the scene of a deadly crash involving a Toyota SUV in Hancock Park early Monday morning. The crash was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. near 1st Street and Highland Avenue. Video from the scene showed the badly damaged Toyota had spun around before coming to a stop with its front end on top of a large boulder. Emergency responders found two badly injured victims, a male and a female, who were occupying the Toyota. The female, who was in the passenger seat, was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cervantes said. The male victim was listed in critical condition. Investigators believe the Lamborghini was traveling northbound on Highland when it struck the Toyota headed eastbound on 1st. Cervantes said the Lamborghini driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, prompting a hit-and-run investigation. No description of the driver was immediately available. KTLA’s Nancy Fontan and Alberto Mendez contributed to this report.
