Kyren Lacy Accused of Causing Deadly Car Collision

Louisiana State Police are asserting that former Louisiana State University football standout Kyren Lacy was blamed for causing a deadly car crash last year. New footage was made public on Tuesday, October 7, suggesting that Lacy's reckless driving in his green Dodge Charger led to the tragic incident resulting in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall in December 2024. This video release followed Lacy's attorney presenting new evidence on October 3, which questioned the alleged circumstances. Despite Louisiana State Police not reporting initially that the green Charger hit any vehicles involved, evidence collected indicated that Lacy's dangerous driving in oncoming traffic set off the chain of events ultimately resulting in the fatal crash. Lacy faced charges of felony negligent homicide, hit and run driving, and misdemeanor reckless driving in January. Shortly before he was set to appear before a grand jury, Lacy was found dead in Houston on April 12 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The released video monitored Lacy's actions leading to Hall's tragic death and showed the consequences of his behavior behind the wheel. Col. Robert P. Hodges, Louisiana State Police superintendent, stressed on Tuesday the importance of considering all facts before forming opinions on the case. Defense attorney Ory's evidence, which includes security footage positioning Lacy's car farther back from the accident scene than originally believed, has sparked a new perspective on the situation. Former LSU teammate Sai’Vion Jones also supported Lacy, disputing the negativity surrounding his friend's character.
