KSP investigates fatal ATV incident involving 11-year-old in Knott County
A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Knott County, where an 11-year-old boy lost his life in an ATV accident. Kentucky State Police shared that the boy was driving the ATV on a surface mine road when it flipped over. The authorities from KSP Post 13 in Hazard responded to the accident scene in the Emmalena community. According to the preliminary investigation, the boy lost control of the ATV while driving at a high speed, causing it to overturn multiple times. The boy was thrown from the ATV and sustained fatal injuries. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knott County Coroner's Office. An autopsy has been scheduled, and toxicology results are awaited as part of the ongoing investigation conducted by KSP.
