Knoxville woman honored with 'Key to the City' for rescuing car crash victim in Missouri

A Knoxville woman, Jada McMillan, was recently honored in Sedalia, Missouri, with the Key to the City for her heroic actions in rescuing a car crash victim. McMillan, a graduate of Hardin Valley Academy and a member of the U.S. Air Force stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, sprang into action when she witnessed the crash while driving home from work. She, along with another airbase employee, Darci Curtis, rescued the 23-year-old crash victim, ShiAnn, from her overturned vehicle. A few months later, McMillan was surprised with the Key to the City by the Mayor of Sedalia as recognition for her bravery. ShiAnn's family expressed deep gratitude for Jada's actions, with ShiAnn's mom describing the meeting with Jada as feeling like family. Both Jada McMillan and Darci Curtis received this prestigious award for their selfless act of heroism.
