Kenyan accident: Palakkad family faces tragedy before trip home
A tragic car accident in Kenya on June 9 claimed the lives of five Keralites, including a mother and daughter from Palakkad. The duo, who were expected to arrive in Kerala for their vacation on June 28, were settled in Qatar for six years. The accident occurred when a tourist bus carrying 28 Indian nationals, who had arrived from Qatar, lost control and fell into a gorge 150 kilometers from Nairobi. While the deceased woman's son-in-law and grandson are undergoing treatment in Nairobi, her son has flown in from Dubai to assist them. Plans are underway to bring the bodies back to Kerala for final rites. Once the formalities are completed, the bodies will be taken to the husband's place in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, for the last rites. The tragic incident has left the community mourning, with details of the victims yet to be officially confirmed.
