
KCMO detectives seek public assistance in locating Mercedes-Benz from deadly accident.
Detectives in Kansas City, Missouri are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a black 2001-2007 Mercedes-Benz believed to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident with a pedestrian. The collision occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, June 22, on northbound U.S. 71 Highway at East 39th Street. According to KCMO police, the victim's vehicle had mechanical issues and was being towed when the pedestrian was struck by the Mercedes-Benz, which failed to stop. Described as a black, four-door 2001-2007 Mercedes-Benz C230, the suspect car is likely to display damage on its front bumper and driver's side, and is missing the driver's side mirror and portions of the front bumper. Regrettably, the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, passed away at the scene of the incident. This marks the 38th traffic fatality in Kansas City, Missouri this year, as compared to 48 at the same time last year.
