Juvenile pedestrian killed in Hawaii Kai crash
HAWAII KAI, Hawaii (KHON2) -- A juvenile male pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in Hawaii Kai. According to the Honolulu Police Department, the fatal crash happened just after 11 a.m. on Feb. 28 on Kukuau Place. Police said a 37-year-old driver was heading north on the street when she struck the boy, "who was in the roadway fronting the vehicle." HPD added that the driver was uninjured and remained at the scene. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Officials said this is Oahu's 9th traffic fatality of the year, compared to 15 at the same time in 2025.
