Extensive delays occurred on the westbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge last Friday due to a multiple vehicle collision. View the current traffic situation through the live map on the WBAL-TV app. Surveillance cameras indicated that traffic was at a standstill heading westbound past noon, but one lane was reopened by 1 p.m. Maryland Transportation Authority police reported that a person was trapped in the crash and required rescue. By 12:30 p.m., a Maryland State Police Medevac helicopter had landed on the bridge. MDTA police advised drivers and passengers to remain in their vehicles during the delays.
