John Elway reportedly involved in golf cart accident when agent fell, injured head: TMZ
DENVER (KDVR) -- TMZ reported Tuesday that former Denver Broncos star John Elway was behind the wheel of a golf cart when his longtime agent and business partner Jeff Sperbeck fell off and hit his head. Elway and Sperbeck are longtime friends and business partners, dating back to the 1990s. Sperbeck was an NFL agent and represented over 100 football players throughout his career. The two opened a winery together in Napa Valley recently. According to TMZ, Sperbeck is in the hospital on life support. The accident happened Saturday evening in La Quinta, California. The two were golfing at the Madison Club when Sperbeck fell off of the back of the moving golf cart, rolled over and then hit his head on the concrete, TMZ reported. Elway called 911 and when paramedics arrived, Sperbeck was reportedly unconscious but still breathing, TMZ said. The publication said Sperbeck, 61, suffered a traumatic brain injury. No other injuries were reported. Elway has not commented on the incident.
