Jefferson County man dies a fatal motor vehicle crash - WWTI
TOWN OF CLAYTON, N.Y. (WWTI) - A 45-year-old Evans Mills is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon. According to New York State Police out of Watertown, around 4:46 p.m. Thursday, a Toyota Tacoma exited the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a telephone pole on County Route 54 in the town of Clayton. The operator, identified as Marc Gross was pronounced deceased at the scene. Live electrical wires from the damaged pole prevented immediate access to the vehicle by emergency crews. National Grid responded to deal with the hazard. No other vehicles were involved, and Gross was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The investigation into the cause of the crash is currently ongoing.
