Jashanpreet Singh: DUI suspect in Ontario truck crash - US citizenship status
Officials have identified Jashanpreet Singh as the driver who was involved in the fatal truck collision in Ontario, California, on Tuesday. Singh was impaired at the time of the accident, which resulted in the deaths of three individuals and caused injuries to at least four others. The collision occurred when Singh's truck collided with slow-moving vehicles on the westbound 10 Freeway. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. Despite being detained at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, questions have arisen regarding his citizenship status. Singh, a 21-year-old from Yuba City, California, has not had his citizenship status disclosed by authorities amid the ongoing investigation. Nonetheless, speculation based solely on his name is not considered reliable. Bill Melugin from Fox News recently stated that Singh, allegedly an 'Indian illegal alien', was detained and released at the California border by the Biden administration in 2022. ICE intends to place a detainer on Singh as he remains in custody under suspicion of DUI causing severe bodily harm and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
