Ivoryton Woman Charged in November 2024 Fatal Collision
On Monday, an Ivoryton woman was arrested in connection with a fatal car accident that happened in November 2024 in New London, CT. The accident, which involved three vehicles - two sedans and a motorcycle, occurred on Nov. 3 at around 4:47 p.m. near the New London Shopping Center entrance, specifically at Vauxhall Street and Colman Street. The crash resulted in injuries to all involved, with the motorcyclist, Curtis Barkdull, suffering the most severe injuries and unfortunately passed away at the hospital. Stephanie Belval, 35, has been charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, following too closely, and speeding. She was given a $25,000 cash-surety bond and is set to appear in New London Superior Court on April 14.
