Iowa siblings die in Kenya crash, sister critical
The community in Waterloo is coming together to support a local family who experienced a devastating accident during a trip to Kenya. The DeLeon family has been facing challenges after a crash that occurred on January 4, resulting in the loss of two of their children and leaving another child in critical condition. The eighth-grader at Hoover Middle School, Emmanuel, and his younger brother Kairo, tragically passed away in the accident, while their older sister Njeri is currently in an Intensive Care Unit in Kenya. Njeri is a junior at West High. To assist with funeral and hospital expenses, a GoFundMe page has been set up for parents Leah and Christopher.
