Iowa man charged with attempted murder following car crash
A man from Buchanan County, Iowa has been taken into custody for attempted murder after being involved in a vehicle collision in the northeast area of the state. The incident occurred in Rowley at the 500 block of Oak Street just before noon on Friday. Deputies responded to reports of a car accident resulting in injuries, where they found that the victim had been hit by a car that veered off the road and then collided with a garage. The victim's injuries were reported as not life-threatening. Following an investigation, Raymond Leroy Gienau, 70 years old, was arrested and charged with attempted murder for intentionally driving his vehicle towards the victim before crashing into the garage. Gienau is being held at the Buchanan County Jail. The authorities are continuing to investigate the case with assistance from the Rowley Fire Department, Quasqueton Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance.
