Iowa crash kills one person, injures woman and 9-year-old boy
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash.The incident happened on Saturday near Wabash Avenue and Ashwood Road.Deputies said a 2004 Santa Fe was heading north and lost control, crossing the center line in the process. The Santa Fe collided with a 2023 Cadillac XT5.The driver of the Santa Fe, identified as Renrenay Thomas of Glenwood, Iowa, was trapped and was extricated by first responders. Thomas was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Thomas was later pronounced dead.The driver of the Cadillac, Theresa Ellsworth of Council Bluffs, and a 9-year-old boy were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.The investigation is still ongoing.NAVIGATE: Home | Weather | Local News | National | Sports | Newscasts on demand |
