Involvement of Mt Pleasant Man in Deadly Collision
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a multi-vehicle collision last Thursday, July 4th, on Highway 8, just north of New Boston. The incident involved a 2021 Dodge Charger traveling southbound that unexpectedly crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 1999 Freightliner (log truck) heading north. The driver of the Dodge, 19-year-old Kaden Allen from Texarkana, Texas, tragically passed away at the scene. A passenger in the Dodge, Lane Smith, also 19 and from Texarkana, declined medical attention at the crash site. The driver of the Freightliner, Richie Delarosa, aged 29 from Mount Pleasant, thankfully did not sustain any injuries.
