Investigation underway into fatal car-train collision in Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City police are currently investigating a fatal collision between a car and a train that occurred on Thursday morning near 1700 South and 700 West. The car caught fire after the impact, resulting in the death of the driver who was the sole occupant. Authorities are still uncertain about the events leading to the crash, and the Salt Lake City Police Department's major crash team is present at the scene. Traffic on 700 West was disrupted from 1700 South to 1900 South until approximately 6:00 a.m.
