Investigation underway for two semi-truck crashes in Woodstock, IL
The Woodstock Fire Department is currently looking into two separate incidents that occurred on Monday involving semi-trucks. The initial collision took place around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Route 47 and Charles Road, where a mid-size SUV was involved with a semi-truck. Emergency responders had to extricate a woman who was trapped inside the SUV and she was subsequently airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center. The male occupant of the SUV was assessed on-site and did not require hospitalization, while the semi-truck driver was unharmed. Approximately 90 minutes later, there was another crash between a semi-truck and a small sedan at Hartland Road and Route 14. Both drivers, the lone occupants of the vehicles, sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to local hospitals for evaluation. The westbound lane on Route 14 had to be temporarily closed as responders managed the situation. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is conducting ongoing investigations into both incidents.
