Investigation underway for fatal accident in southeastern Colorado Springs
An investigation is ongoing following a fatal collision on the southeast side of Colorado Springs early Monday morning. The Colorado Springs Police Department received a call about the incident near Circle Drive on the MLK overpass just after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Initial reports indicated that two vehicles were involved, resulting in one fatality at the scene and another individual being transported to the hospital. All lanes were reopened by approximately 6 a.m. The cause of the crash is still being determined, with reports suggesting it was a head-on collision. The survivor of the crash was described as being in "stable" condition though with serious injuries. At present, no identities of those involved have been made public.
