Investigation underway after fatal I-55 crash
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking into a fatal accident that occurred on Monday morning on Interstate 55 northbound at the Highway 22/Canton/Flora exit. Following the crash, all lanes were closed, and multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene. An SUV or van caught fire and was destroyed on the road, with debris possibly from another vehicle in the adjacent grass. The crash resulted in a fatality, and both the Gluckstadt Police Department and the MHP are investigating the incident, with the Accident Reconstruction Unit working to establish the sequence of events.
