Investigation ongoing into fatal crash on Constitution involving speed and alcohol
Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers responded to an incident involving a car collision at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Saturday in the vicinity of Constitution Avenue and Alpine Drive. The CSPD reported that two vehicles were speeding in the westbound direction on Constitution, while a third vehicle was making a left turn from the eastbound side onto Alpine Drive. The car making the turn was struck by one of the speeding vehicles from the west, resulting in the driver being critically injured and ultimately passing away. The CSPD Major Crash Team initiated an investigation and suspects that excessive speed and alcohol may have been factors in the accident. The current condition of the other two drivers involved is not known, and the identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed.
