Investigation of deadly crash on I-20 frontage road by Mississippi Highway Patrol
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a tragic accident in Hinds County on the frontage road of Interstate 20. Trooper Darnika Mayfield reported that a 2014 Mercedes, driven by a 31-year-old woman from Raymond, was heading east on the frontage road when it crashed with a disabled 2004 Nissan Titan in the eastbound lane. According to Mayfield, the Nissan driver, 66-year-old Danny Johnson from Bolton, was outside his vehicle when the collision occurred, resulting in his unfortunate death at the scene. The Mercedes driver was injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center in Jackson for treatment of unspecified injuries.
