Investigation of deadly accident on E. Katie Ave and S. Maryland Pkwy on Saturday night
A deadly accident that occurred on E. Katie Avenue and S. Maryland Parkway resulting in one fatality is currently under investigation by the LVMPD. According to authorities, on June 28 at approximately 9:57 p.m., a 61-year-old man driving a Nissan Altima attempted to make a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow and collided with a 24-year-old woman driving a Mercedes Benz, who was proceeding through a green light near Molasky Family Park. The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Sunrise Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercedes Benz, who did not show any signs of impairment, sustained minor injuries. This tragic incident marks the 84th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's area of responsibility for 2025.
