Investigation of crash near Westinghouse Academy; 2 hospitalized
Two individuals were transported to a medical facility following an accident near Westinghouse Academy in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon. A video captured by Sky 4, Pittsburgh's lone news helicopter, displayed Pittsburgh police vehicles and school police responding to the scene at North Murtland Street and Monticello Street. The incident occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m., and footage from Sky 4 depicted a red SUV being removed by a tow truck. According to a resident interviewed by Pittsburgh's Action News 4, a vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle and unintentionally hit three school-age kids.
