
Investigation into plane crash near Propwash Airport in Denton County
Authorities are currently investigating a recent small plane crash near an airport in Denton County, south of Justin. The incident involved a 2019 Saberwing Lightsport aircraft and happened around 7:10 p.m. on Friday near Propwash Airport. The plane went down for unknown reasons, according to a statement from the Justin Fire Department. A witness informed CBS News Texas that the pilot appeared to have trouble and tried to return to the airport but unfortunately crashed before making it. The number of people on board and the severity of injuries are still being determined. Fire Chief Matthew Mitchell mentioned that efforts are underway to gather more information and ensure the safety of the area. Law enforcement has secured the scene to facilitate emergency crew activities and preserve the situation. Various agencies, including the FAA, Texas DPS, Denton County Sheriff's Office, Denton County Fire Marshal's Office, Justin Police Department, and Justin Fire Department, are involved in the ongoing investigations.
