Investigation into deadly crash northwest of Wichita
An elderly man has passed away after a collision involving a bicycle and a semi-truck in the region northwest of Wichita. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at the junction of 247th Street West and 29th Street North. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man with severe injuries who later succumbed to them. Lt. Steve Olsen of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office stated that the authorities are in the early stages of the investigation. According to Olsen, a group of cyclists was separated during the accident, with four cyclists and a northbound semi-truck involved. The three surviving cyclists are understandably in a state of shock as they mourn the loss of their riding companion. The semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities.
