Investigation initiated by PSP after pursuit results in deadly collision in Cumberland County
The Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating a tragic incident in Cumberland County that took place on Interstate 81 following a pursuit. The episode unfolded on Thursday evening when a motorcyclist failed to stop for an officer from the West Shore Regional Police Department in Worlmeysburg borough. The pursuit led onto the northbound entrance ramp of I-81 in East Pennsboro Township, where the motorcycle apparently collided with a barrier and a parked dump truck, resulting in the rider's passing. The identity of the victim is being withheld by PSP until their next of kin is notified. Multiple agencies, including PSP's CARS Unit, FSU, and West Shore Regional PD, are involved in the investigation. Traffic on I-81 was temporarily impacted but has since returned to normal, as the entrance ramp from US-15/Route 11 to I-81 has reopened.
