Investigation in Progress for Deadly Motorcycle Accident in Turtlecreek Township

The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently looking into a tragic motorcycle accident that occurred in Turtlecreek Township. Emergency responders were called to Waynesville Road, close to Hollingsworth Road, at approximately 8:23 p.m. on Wednesday after reports of a single-vehicle crash. The motorcycle, driven by 26-year-old Mathew Schmitz from Fairfield Township, was headed southwest when Schmitz lost control on a curve, veering off the road and colliding with both a ditch and tree. Sadly, Schmitz, who was the only person on the motorcycle, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The OSP received assistance from various local agencies, including the Warren County Sheriff's Office, Turtlecreek Township Fire Department, Clearcreek Fire District, Wayne Township Fire & EMS, and Jacob's Towing.
